About Oris Medya

Oris Medya is an independent publication that explains the media economy by following the money. Who pays whom, which intermediaries the money passes through, and whose balance sheet it finally rests on — that is the same question behind every article we run.

Why this publication exists

Most coverage of the media industry is either a rewritten press release or a trend piece that never touches a number. The gap in between is real: it is genuinely hard to find plain-language explanations of a media group's revenue mix, an agency's remuneration structure or a streaming platform's revenue per member — let alone explanations that look beyond a single market.

Oris Medya aims to fill that gap. Our articles read the Turkish, European and North American markets together, because the forces that set a brand's media budget in Istanbul are now largely shaped by the same global platform economics that set it in Paris or London.

Who we write for

  • Client-side marketers: teams negotiating agency contracts, defending media budgets and designing measurement frameworks.
  • Agency professionals: planners, buyers, new-business and finance teams.
  • Investors and analysts: anyone covering media, advertising and entertainment equities.
  • Journalists and academics: readers who need fast access to the structural data of the sector.

How we source figures

The order of preference is explicit: (1) company financial reports, investor presentations and regulatory filings; (2) aggregated data published by trade bodies and regulators; (3) public estimates from independent research firms. Anything drawn from the third category is labelled estimated in the text.

When we convert between currencies we use the average rate for the relevant fiscal year and say so in the article's data note. If we cannot verify a figure, we do not publish it. When a correction is required, we add a dated correction note to the article.

Editorial independence

Oris Medya does not publish sponsored content, advertorials or paid links. We hold no consulting or advertising relationship with the companies we cover. Where any interest could reasonably be perceived, it is disclosed at the top of the article.

Our tool comparisons are not paid for by vendors and contain no affiliate links. Rankings follow criteria we state up front: pricing transparency, data coverage, depth of integrations and contract flexibility.

Published in three languages

Every article appears in Turkish, English and French. These are not machine translations: each language version is rewritten in the financial and media register of that language. "Net revenue", for instance, carries a specific meaning in agency reporting that a literal translation would lose, so we render it according to local market usage rather than word for word.

Who is responsible

The responsible editor of this publication is Miraç Uslanmaz, who answers for the final state of every text on the site, for the decision to publish it and for any correction to it. Articles carry the collective byline of the Oris Medya Research Desk; a collective byline does not diffuse accountability, and this is the name it rests on.

Our full account of subject selection, sourcing, AI-assisted production and the relationship with advertising is set out on the Editorial Standards page.

Corrections policy

If you spot a material error, write to editor@orismedya.xyz. Verified corrections are applied within 48 hours and listed with their date at the foot of the article. We do not correct silently.
